    Weather/Campus Closing Information

Sign up for NCC text alerts to be notified of emergencies and weather-related delays, cancellations, and closing information. A banner will also appear on the top of the NCC website homepage.

    • Closing Procedures: When inclement winter weather impacts normal college operations, the college will dictate either a closure (Closed) or remote work (Remote). Listed below are the definitions and expectations of students/faculty and staff during such days.
      • CLOSED: When the college overall or a campus is CLOSED, faculty/staff/students will not be expected to work remotely. All classes – no matter the course format – are cancelled. Students are instructed to check Blackboard for details from their instructors about how these cancelled classes will make up instructional activities.
      • REMOTE: When the college or an individual campus is REMOTE, employees (faculty/staff) who can complete their work remotely will do so. For delayed openings, faculty/staff/students will be expected to report to campus when the campus opens. Classes scheduled with remote instructional activities (online, online blended, online remote/other distance mode, and hybrid) will meet remotely. In-person classes will not meet. Students, no matter the course format of the courses they are taking, are instructed to check Blackboard for details from their instructors.
    • View the Academic Calendar for more information regarding academic dates such as scheduled college closings and other important dates.
