Enrollment Checklist

1. Apply for Admission & Submit Your Transcripts

The Northampton Community College application process is fast, easy, and free!

  1. Apply using our online application in NCC's Admissions Portal.

  2. Create an Admissions Portal account by clicking on the blue Sign In button on the top right corner.

  3. Check your email to confirm the account.

  4. Sign into your account and then click on the NCC Undergraduate Admissions link.

  5. Click on the Start New Application button.

  6. Fill out your application completely before submitting it.

Check out this short video if you need help.

After you've completed your application, check the personal email account you entered in your application. Within 24 hours, you’ll receive an email with your username and temporary password for your Workday Student Portal (NCC's student information system) along with the next steps for our admitted students.

For our selective majors, you'll need to review admissions requirements prior to applying to ensure the best chance of getting into the program. You can see the admissions requirements for selective admissions on their respective program pages. Those who apply for a selective program should review the timelines for that specific program to see when you'll receive your acceptance decision and Workday account information.

To review any additional application requirements and see your decision, sign into your Admissions Portal account, click on "NCC Undergraduate admissions" and click on the link to your application. Make sure to enter the personal email and password you used to create the account. If you need help contact [email protected] or [email protected].

If you have any questions, contact our Admissions Team at [email protected] or 610.861.5500.

Submit Your Transcripts

All students must submit official transcripts from any high school(s) or college(s) attended. If you took AP exams, you can request a score report through your College Board account. If you earned a GED or state high school equivalency diploma, you may send a copy to NCC.

Official transcripts should be sent electronically from the school(s) attended to: [email protected]

Paper transcripts must be in a sealed envelope to be considered as official and sent to:

Northampton Community College, Records and Registration

3835 Green Pond Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18020

If you have any additional questions regarding transcripts, contact our Records & Registration Office at [email protected].

2. Apply For Financial Aid

All students should apply for financial aid whether they think they will qualify or not. Completing your FAFSA is the gateway to unlocking all of your potential financial aid options like grants, scholarships, work-study, and more. To begin your FAFSA, you’ll need to gather some important documents (like your federal tax information, other income information, and social security number). After you submit your FAFSA, please respond promptly to any requests for additional information from the NCC Financial Aid Office.

Here’s how to get started:

  • File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.

  • Complete the PA State Grant Form if you’re a resident of Pennsylvania at PHEAA.org.

  • Apply for NCC Scholarships. We have one of the largest scholarship programs in PA and award over 600 each year. Review our scholarships here and then apply here.

While you’re working on your FAFSA, sign up for Orientation Part 1 (see next step). If you need assistance with your FAFSA or have any other Financial Aid questions, contact our Financial Aid Team at [email protected] or 610-861-5510.

3. Complete Orientation Part 1 (Online Zoom Session)

As part of our onboarding process, we require that all new students attend our one-hour mandatory orientation session entitled Getting Started: Preparing for Advising and Registration. This virtual session will introduce you to the basic processes and technology you need to be successful as a Spartan. We’ll cover important next steps in the enrollment process like transcripts and placement, completing your FAFSA and academic advising as well as review how to log into your Student Workday account, access your email and more.

Orientation sessions will be offered multiple times per week from March – August.

If you have questions about orientation, please contact [email protected].

4. Complete Orientation Part 2 (Advising & Registration)

The final step in enrolling at NCC is to meet with your advisor so you can register for classes. All new students are assigned an Academic Advisor and must connect with them prior to registration. Your Advisor will assist you with understanding program requirements, determining placement, academic planning, and transfer exploration. They'll also connect you with resources and student organizations to provide a more all-inclusive, rewarding experience while you’re here. For a demonstration of how to find your assigned Advisor in Workday, click here.

Check your NCC student email for important information from your advisor including how to make an appointment with them.

Before you meet with an Advisor, make sure you have submitted your transcripts and looked at placement requirements. Once you’ve met with your advisor, you can begin the registration process. Click here for steps on how to register.

Guest and visiting students are not assigned Advisors and should utilize drop-in advising for assistance.

If you have any questions, contact the Academic Advising Office at 610.861.5346 or [email protected].

Transferring to NCC

If you want to transfer from your current school or complete a degree that you started elsewhere, complete an application, and select "Transfer" as your Applicant Type. As part of our online application, there will be a box to check if you've attended any other colleges, universities or post-high school institutions.

You'll also need to submit transcripts from any schools you've previously attended so we can review and evaluate which credits will transfer in. We can transfer up to 45 credits for any degree, certificate or specialized diploma.

Guest/Visiting Student Info

If you are currently enrolled at another college/university and plan on taking courses at NCC to have credits transfer back to your home institution, you are considered a guest/visiting student.

What do I select on the application?

Select "Non-Degree" for your Applicant Type and "Guest/Visiting Student" for your Program of Study.

If you are a returning guest/visiting student, indicate that you are a re-admit student under Applicant Type.

How do I know if my credits will transfer to my full-time college or university?

Contact your college or university advisor to determine course transferability to your institution. You may also choose to meet with an Academic Advisor at either your full time college/university or with an advisor at NCC.

Does NCC need my transcripts?

Appropriate transcripts and current college or university schedules are used to determine placement in college-level courses. You must have documentation proving you have met course prerequisites before registering for courses at NCC. Transcripts can be sent from authorized senders to [email protected].

Previously Applied But Never Enrolled

A student who applies but never enrolls will have an active Workday account for two major semesters (fall and spring) after applying. For example, if you apply for fall 2021 but decide to wait until spring 2022 or fall 2022 to start classes, you do not need to submit a new application; your student account will still be active. If it’s been longer than two major semesters, you will need to submit a new application in the portal to reactivate your student account.

If you forget your Workday Student Account information, contact our help desk at [email protected].
