Military Education Benefits & Assistance

Military-affiliated students may be able to receive entitlement funding based upon service obligation.

Northampton Community College welcomes all military-affiliated students. NCC aims to provide support, facilitate, and coordinate services and programs to students who are active military, veterans, or military-affiliated students as you begin or continue your education.

As a military-affiliated student, you may be able to receive entitlement funding based upon service obligation. At NCC, the School Certifying Official (SCO) will act as the liaison between you and the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). The SCO will certify the benefit(s) to which you may be entitled.

VA Education Benefits

The Adult & Military-Affiliated Student Services Office (AMASS) aids active-duty service members, veterans, reservists, guardsmen, and family members with the DVA education benefits and services they have earned.

Tuition Assistance

The Tuition Assistance (TA) Program provides financial assistance to military personnel in support of their personal and professional developmental goals.

Additional Resources & Opportunities

There are other internal and external resources and opportunities available.

Please note: VA Benefits will not be processed for courses that are not required for a student's program of study. To maintain eligibility for VA Education Benefits and financial aid, students must maintain good academic satisfactory progress per federal guidelines in the categories of GPA (grade point average) and CR (completion rate). This means the student must complete a minimum of 67% of all credits attempted and maintain a GPA of 2.0 or better. Progress information is available from the AMASS Office or the Financial Aid Office.
