NCC selective programs are majors which have competitive admissions acceptance. Students who wish to enroll in these programs should follow the instructions on the program's page. Listed below are selective programs and their deadlines. Click on the selective program title to view more information on the program.

Dental Hygiene: Fall-start clinical program. The application opens October 1 and must be completed by January 15. Students who miss the January 15 deadline and wish to take general education courses toward the Dental Hygiene degree may apply to the General Studies program of study.

Diagnostic Medical Sonography: Fall-start clinical program. The application opens October 1 and must be completed by February 1. Students who miss the February 1 deadline and wish to take general education courses toward the Diagnostic Medical Sonography degree may apply to the Health Sciences program of study.

Funeral Service Education: Fall-start clinical program. The application opens October 1 and must be completed by February 1. Students who miss the February 1 deadline and wish to take general education courses toward the Funeral Service Education degree may apply to the Pre-Funeral Service program of study.

Nursing-LPN (Practical Nursing): Fall-start clinical program (Bethlehem and Pocono). The application opens October 1 and must be completed by February 1. Students who miss the February 1 deadline and wish to take general education courses toward the LPN certificate may apply to the General Studies program of study.

Nursing-RN (Registered Nursing): Students who miss the deadline for their semester start and wish to take general education courses toward the RN degree may apply to the Health Sciences program of study.

Fall-start clinical program: Bethlehem and Pocono. The application opens October 1 and must be completed by February 1.

Spring-start clinical program: Bethlehem Only. The application opens May 1 and must be completed by September 15. Evening/Weekend option is offered only in the spring semester of even-numbered years (2022, 2024, etc.) on the Bethlehem campus.

Advanced Placement RN: Students who miss the deadline for their semester start and wish to take general education courses toward the RN degree may apply to the Health Sciences program of study. This option is open only to applicants who have a current LPN license.

If you are interested in taking one of our non-credit classes across areas like community education, business training, and leadership development, you’ll need to register through our LifeLearn system. You do not need to apply to the college to enroll in a non-credit class. The LifeLearn Course Catalog can be found here.
Once you’ve found the class or classes you’re looking for, select the section you’d like, click the “Register Me” button, and follow the prompts to complete your registration. You will also be instructed to create a LifeLearn login if you are first-time user.
Yes, Northampton Community College does offer GED prep classes and a testing site.
- GED® TEST PREPARATION: NCC's in-person GED® Test Preparation classes are designed to provide instruction in Social Studies, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Reasoning through Language Arts in order to prepare students to pass the GED® or HiSET® test and receive a Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma. - We also offer online GED® Test Preparation Classes.
- GED® TESTING AT NCC: The official, computer-based GED test is offered at the Bethlehem campus Mack Library and the Pocono campus ESSA Bank & Trust Foundation Library testing centers. For testing center contact and location information, go to www.northampton.edu/library/testing-center.htm. To see the hours for GED testing click on Pearson VUE on the right-hand side.
The GED test is made up of four subjects, broken into separate exams: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Candidates need to earn 145 points on each subject to pass the test. One test at a time can be scheduled, and candidates pay for each test as they take it.
