Credit Programs: How Do I Know Which Program to Enroll in?

With more than 100 options, NCC has the program or major for you! All academic programs are designed to help you meet your personal and/or career goals. Many programs will transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Others will prepare you to step right into today's competitive workforce in a range of professions, trades, and technical fields. Credit Programs: What Are Selective Programs?

NCC selective programs are majors which have competitive admissions acceptance. Students who wish to enroll in these programs should follow the instructions on the program's page. Refer to our Health Professions Admissions Requirements webpage for more information.

      Non-Credit: How Do I Register For a Non-Credit Class?

      If you are interested in taking one of our non-credit classes across areas like community education, business training, and leadership development, you’ll need to register through our LifeLearn system. You do not need to apply to the college to enroll in a non-credit class. The LifeLearn Course Catalog can be found here.

      Once you’ve found the class or classes you’re looking for, select the section you’d like, click the “Register Me” button, and follow the prompts to complete your registration. You will also be instructed to create a LifeLearn login if you are first-time user.


      Non-Credit: Does NCC Offer GED Classes?

      Yes, Northampton Community College does offer GED prep classes and a testing site.

      • GED® TEST PREPARATION: NCC's in-person GED® Test Preparation classes are designed to provide instruction in Social Studies, Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Reasoning through Language Arts in order to prepare students to pass the GED® or HiSET® test and receive a Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma.       • GED® TESTING AT NCC: The official, computer-based GED test is offered at the Bethlehem campus Mack Library and the Pocono campus ESSA Bank & Trust Foundation Library testing centers. For testing center contact and location information, go to www.northampton.edu/library/testing-center.htm. To see the hours for GED testing click on Pearson VUE on the right-hand side.

        The GED test is made up of four subjects, broken into separate exams: Mathematical Reasoning, Reasoning through Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. Candidates need to earn 145 points on each subject to pass the test. One test at a time can be scheduled, and candidates pay for each test as they take it.
