- This is your first time in college (not including high school dual enrollment)
- You are a current high school student interested in taking college courses (high school dual enrollment)
- You are attending another college/university and want to take courses at NCC to transfer them back to your home school (guest/visiting student)
- You are a professional interested in taking credit courses for professional development
- You are a former NCC student who has not attended NCC in the last 12 months
- You are currently attending another college/university and want to transfer credits into NCC and complete a program here
To get started, click on the Start Application button. Please fill out your application completely before submitting it.
Note: If you are a current student interested in applying to a selective admissions program, an international student, or someone who is looking to enroll in any of our non-credit classes or programs, choose the appropriate option on this page to get started.
Students intending to major in one of our selective health sciences majors should review admissions requirements prior to applying to ensure the best chance of getting into the program. You can see the admissions requirements for selective admissions on their respective program pages.
If you have any questions about applying, contact the Admissions Office at adminfo@northampton.edu or 610-861-5500.
Submit Your Transcripts
All students must submit official transcripts from any high school(s) or college(s) attended. If you took AP exams, you can request a score report through your College Board account. If you earned a GED or state high school equivalency diploma, you should send a copy to NCC.
Official transcripts should be sent electronically from the school(s) attended to: transcripts@northampton.edu. (GED and/or state high school equivalency diplomas do not need to be official. You may scan a copy to this email address.)
Paper transcripts must be in a sealed envelope to be considered as official and sent to:
Northampton Community College, Records and Registration Office,
3835 Green Pond Rd, Bethlehem, PA 18020
If you have any additional questions regarding transcripts, contact the Records & Registration Office at record@northampton.edu.
All students should apply for financial aid regardless of whether they think they will qualify. Completing the FAFSA is the gateway to unlocking all of your potential financial aid options like grants, student loans, work-study, and more. To begin the FAFSA, you’ll need to gather some important documents such as your federal tax information, other income information, and social security number. After you submit your FAFSA, please respond promptly to any requests for additional information from the NCC Financial Aid Office.
To get started:
- File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov.
- If you are a resident of Pennsylvania, complete the PA State Grant Form at PHEAA.org.
- Apply for NCC Scholarships. NCC has one of the largest scholarship programs in the state and awards over 1,000 each year! Review our scholarships here and then apply here.
While you’re working on your FAFSA, sign up for Orientation Part 1 (see next step).
If you need assistance completing the FAFSA or have financial aid questions, contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@northampton.edu or 610-861-5510.
All new students are required to attend a one-hour mandatory orientation session entitled Getting Started: Preparing for Advising and Registration. This virtual session will introduce you to the basic processes and technology you need to be successful as a Spartan. We’ll cover important next steps in the enrollment process like transcripts and placement, completing the FAFSA, and academic advising as well as review how to log into your Workday Student portal, access your NCC student email, and more. Orientation sessions are offered multiple times per week.
Guest/visiting students are not required to complete Orientation Part 1 but are strongly encouraged to complete this step. If a guest/visiting student has the orientation hold, this may indicate that there is incorrect information in Workday that needs to be changed. Please see Guest/Visiting Students below for more information on how to correct your major.
If you have questions about orientation, please contact orientation@northampton.edu.
The final step in enrolling at NCC is to meet with your academic advisor so you can register for classes. Your advisor will assist you with understanding program requirements, determining whether you need placement testing, academic planning, and transfer exploration. They'll also connect you with resources and student organizations to provide a more all-inclusive, rewarding experience while you’re here.
Check your NCC student email for important information from your advisor including how to schedule an appointment.
Before you meet with an advisor, be sure to submit your transcripts and check out placement requirements. Once you’ve met with your advisor, you can begin the registration process. Click here for steps on how to register.
Guest and visiting students are not assigned academic advisors and should utilize drop-in advising for assistance.
If you have any questions, contact the Academic Advising Office at 610-861-5346 or advinfo@northampton.edu.
More Information
If you previously attended NCC, but have not attended in the last 12 months, you are considered a Re-Admit Student upon your return and should complete a new application.
Please refer to this article on how to apply as an international student, as well as more important information.
Please see this article on how to apply as a High School Dual Enrollment student, as well as more important information.
If you want to transfer from your current college or university or complete a degree that you started elsewhere, complete a new application. As part of the online application, you will indicate which college(s) you've attended.
You'll also need to submit transcripts from any schools you've previously attended so we can evaluate which credits will transfer. We can transfer up to 75% of any degree, certificate, or specialized diploma (at least 25% must be completed at NCC).
For more info on transferring to NCC, click here or contact the Admissions Office at adminfo@northampton.edu or 610-861-5500.
Guest/Visiting Students
If you are currently enrolled at another college/university and plan on taking courses at NCC to have credits transfer back to your home institution, you are considered a guest/visiting student.
- Should I complete a new application?
- If you never attended NCC before or if you previously attended but have not taken a class here in the last 12 months, then yes!
- How do I know if my credits will transfer to my full-time college or university?
- Contact your academic advisor at your college or university to determine course transferability to your institution. You may also meet with an advisor at NCC.
- Does NCC need my transcripts?
- Yes! We need your transcripts to determine placement in college-level courses. You must have documentation proving you have met course prerequisites before registering for courses at NCC. Transcriptscan be sent from authorized senders to transcripts@northampton.edu.
- Do guest/visiting students need to complete Orientation Part 1?
- Guest/visiting students are strongly encourage, but not required, to complete Orientation Part 1. If you are a guest/visiting student and you have an orientation hold on your Workday account, this may indicate that there is incorrect information in Workday that needs to be changed. You should submit a Change of Major form in your Workday student account by following these steps:
- Log into your Workday student account.
- Click Academics under Your Top Apps.
- On the next page, under Academic Records, click Change or Declare a New Major.
- A Create Request window will pop up. In the Request Type field, select All then select Request to declare or change my major. Click OK.
- Complete the form (for Area of Study, select Guest/Visiting).
- After completing all form questions, click Submit. (Once this change of major form is processed, orientation and/or advising holds will be lifted.)
A student who applies but never enrolls will have an active Workday account for two major semesters (fall and spring) after applying. For example, if you applied for fall 2024 but decide to wait until spring 2025 or fall 2025 to start classes, you do not need to submit a new application; your student account will still be active. If it’s been longer than two major semesters, you will need to submit a new application to reactivate your student account.
If you forget your Workday Student account information, contact the NCC Help Desk at helpdesk@northampton.edu.
